Gothic Home Decor

When many people hear of gothic home decor they picture someone that only dresses in black and wears black lipstick. The reality of the matter is that many people are interested in this decorating style and most of them look just everyone else.

Many times, gothic home decor is used in one room of the house rather than the entire house. The basement, family room, and bedrooms are popular for this style of decorating. You don't have to consider yourself gothic to enjoy this type of home decorating.

When planning your goth room you will probably want to address the walls before anything else. One option for the walls would be to get some plastic or vinyl imitation stone siding that people put on the exterior walls of the homes and line your interior room with it. Some of these materials look very real. Another option would be to paint the walls. Black, really, makes the room seem confined so if you don't want that, try a darker red, navy, or silver. These colors will work well with your furnishings, also.

Your furniture and flooring allow you to use your imagination again. Wood is a safe route to go with for both flooring and furniture. A hardwood floor works well and wooden furniture can be left as is or painted. Black paint on wood furniture will match any gothic decorating.

There is a wide variety of accessories that you can choose from to complete your room. Older paintings of houses or people can be found in pawn shops or on garage sales. Candles are a nice addition. Red, black, and silver candles are very inexpensive. Let them burn down some for an added touch. Place smaller candles in metallic candle holders. You can use things covered in silk or velvet for accenting certain areas. Dry flower arrangements are quite gothic or add some knives and swords for a medieval goth feel.

The Google Search Traffic Formula Revealed. Learn Why Getting Free Traffic Used to Be a Struggle.

Knowing just how to structure web pages to achieve good rankings on Google is vital for anyone who wants their web site to get free traffic from folks searching the web. Appearing on the first page of Google guarantees reliable and free traffic to that web site. Learn the 3 parts of Google's new search traffic formula.
Google keeps under wraps the secret search traffic formula that determines their organic listings in the results of searches. But, knowing just how to structure web pages to achieve good rankings on Google is vital for anyone who wants their web site to get free traffic from folks searching the web. Appearing on the first page of Google guarantees reliable and free traffic to that web site.

Experts in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) are constantly looking for the best way to help their clients rank on the first page of Google and therefore get free traffic to their web sites. That goal has always been elusive and a moving target, as Google's search traffic formula has been a closely guarded secret.

Recently however, Ryan Deiss, a well know Guru in internet marketing has revealed what years of research has taught him and his staff about Google's search traffic formula and has created a product called Perpetual Traffic Formula. The product sold for almost $2000 and provided detailed steps and processes to achieve a high ranking in Google. But Ryan Deiss revealed what he discovered about Google's search traffic formula to everyone for free.

Ryan Deiss provided video proof that Google's search traffic formula now consists of three parts and he explained how the parts fit together. The first two parts were always believed by experts to be part of Google's formula; back links from well trafficked web sites, and web pages correctly structured with keywords and tags.

An understanding of the third part of Google's search traffic formula provided the final clue as to how to rank in the first page of Google. According to Ryan Deiss, his research has uncovered that Google's newest search traffic formula now considers "activity" when ranking web sites. Activity is defined as searchers landing on the web site page and interacting in some way. Blogs are the perfect example of sites that have activity. People leaving comments on a blog, shows Google that the site is valuable to searchers and Google will rank it higher than sites with little activity.

Knowing that Google's search traffic formula consists of three parts makes it much easier to begin the process of getting a web site ranked on the first page of Google. The basic steps are, first, create a web site with a keyword rich domain name and make sure that each page contains the proper keyword in H1 tags, title tags and image tags. Second, write good original content that other web sites will want to link to. And third, provide that content in  a blog format and encourage searchers to comment.

With all of these three elements in place, Google will determine that the web site is valuable to searchers and will reward it with a higher ranking in the search page results.

How to Grow Ornamental Grasses

Ornamental grasses have become extremely popular in the past ten years or so, and if you buy them at a garden center they are kind of pricey. Learning how to grow them yourself is actually quite easy. They can be grown from seed, but I won’t pretend to be an expert at that for several reasons. One, I don’t know anything about growing them from seed, and two, I have no desire to propagate them from seed because seedlings require too much care.
The easiest and most effective way to propagate them is through simple division. Of course you will need at least one parent plant of each variety that you would like to grow. If you shop around you might be able to find some 4” inch pots at a fair price.
One of each variety is good for a start. I find that the best time of the year to divide them is in the spring, just before the new growth emerges. If you buy the stock plants in the early spring, you might be able to divide them right away. If you buy them at any other time of the year, just plant them in your garden or other suitable location, knowing that you are going to dig them up in a few months, or a year or so.
When spring arrives you can divide them at any time as long as they are not well into putting on new growth. The earlier the better. To divide them simply dig up the root mass and start dividing it into pieces. The divisions do not have to be to be very large. It’ difficult to describe, but as long as you have some roots, the new plant is likely to grow.
If you have small young plants you can probably just tear the root mass apart with your hands, but if the root mass is very big then you are going to need some tools. You might need some heavy duty tools!
Last spring I divided several grass plants that had been in my landscape for a few years. When I dug out the root mass it was much larger and more dense than I expected. Using a very good digging spade and some real elbow power I was able to chop the root mass into quarters, and I replanted the quarters back into my landscape. That still left many clumps that I wanted to divide into very small plants that I could pot up in 2 quart containers.
The root mass was too dense to tear apart with my hands, so I literally got a hammer and a 4” wide mason’s chisel and chiseled off pieces.  It worked and I now have a couple of hundred beautiful little grass plants in 2 quart containers.
Since then I have talked with a friend of mine who works for a large wholesale grower, and he told me that you never want to let an ornamental grass plant get that big if you intend to divide it. He said they plant small divisions in the field in the spring, and dig them up the following spring and divide them again. He assured me that if you get them just 12 months later, they can be easily torn apart by hand.

Unreliable cars unveiled

In the world of cars some car manufacturers have a good reputation while others simply don’t. Some manufacturers have historically always produced reliable cars, but occasionally manufacturers with a good reputation turn out unreliable cars.

Based on claims made against the warranty on the car, below is a list of cars you probably thought were reliable but in fact aren’t:

The old Lexus LS sold between 2000 and 2003. Lexus is known for being both luxurious and of high quality but a massive 31% of this LS model broke down every year. And this is the same percentage as another Japanese car, the Mazda RX-8. But while a Lexus repair can cost up to £650, a repair of a Mazda RX-8 can total over £4,000. So if you own a vehicle like this, you should probably pray yours in one of the reliable ones.

Another well considered car is the Volkswagen Golf but the 2004-2009 model had a breakdown incident rate of 32%. Still a great car with excellent handling but clearly not as reliable as you would think. The Audi A3 is another well respected German offering which frankly disappoints when it comes to reliability. The annual failure of the A3 is a massive 38% with repairs costing up to almost £4,000.

But the least reliable of all is the Land Rover Discovery with a breakdown rate of 62%. This is a very popular car on British roads but with figures like that you have to wonder why. Repair bills can run as high as £3,000.

So noticeably it’s the traditionally very reliable Japanese and German cars that also turn out to be the most unreliable just proving that even great manufacturers can produce duds from time to time. If you’re in the market for a new car, it’s clearly worth checking online how reliable your favourite car is before you visit any local car dealers in Kent or any other regions. It might even be worth looking at other car makers such as Peugeot or Citroen.
